BIOGRAPHY

Music has been part of Gail’s life ever since she can remember.  Born Gail Nonnemacher in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she began studying piano at age four after convincing her parents to rent a piano for her use.  During junior high school, she began singing and studied with Dr. Bernard Stone of Jackson, Michigan for several years in high school.  She sang with the Michigan All-State Vocal Association Honors Choir and the Jackson Community Chorus during these years.

A multi-talented woman, Ms. Becke has always incorporated music into her life.  After a break from music while attending MIT, she sang with the Atlanta Bach Society (Atlanta, Georgia) while in Georgia with Dow Chemical.  After a move to the Columbus, Ohio area, she was the soloist for Chorus Columbus.  She also sang as a section leader with the Denison University Chorale and as a choir member at St. Joseph’s Cathedral.

In recent years, she has worked to establish music as her primary career focus.  While living in Indiana, she studied with Mark Phelps at Indiana University.  She offered solo concerts and sang as a soloist with First Congregational Church and First Christian Scientist Church, both in Terre Haute, Indiana.  She has also sung with the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir.  She secured the cover for the soprano solo in Mozart’s Grand Mass in C minor.  Ms. Becke looks forward to increasing her singing opportunities with her move to the greater Chicago area.
